Dorothy Fix

The altar-like installations, imagery, patterns, and colors of my fiber art works are inspired by pilgrimages made to ancient sacred sites around the world. My creative process is meditative and open ended allowing dialogue with the image while it is being dyed, printed, and/or painted. Some of the more complex cloths are layered with other fabric and embellished with hand stitchery
